McNamara Florist was founded in 1954 by Robert and Richard McNamara in the corner of a building owned by their father at 1111 E. 61st Street in Indianapolis. Brother Richard soon decided to leave the new business and Bob continued on his own. The business grew and prospered and eventually expanded to occupy most of the building. The 1970’s and 80’s saw the opening of additional locations on the north side of Indianapolis. Well respected, both locally and nationally, Bob McNamara became involved in FTD; an association of some 20,000 plus florists throughout the US and Canada. Bob was elected to FTD’s Board of Directors and eventually held the offices of President and Chairman of the Board. Even though we have changed considerably over the past 45 plus years we still have a store occupying the space where it all began.

Bob McNamara instilled values in the business, which are still a key part of who we are today. Those values include quality products; focus on taking care of customers, good taste and quality of design (especially when it comes to color combinations), and above all integrity when it comes to business ethics. These values are still at the core of McNamara Florist today and many of our managers and employees worked for Bob McNamara many years and truly understand and believe how important they are.

Today McNamara is a powerhouse in the floral industry. Well respected locally and nationally, we are currently ranked in the "Top 20" by FTD in the US and Canada. With over 100 employees based in Indianapolis we have the ability to handle large social and business functions of all types with unsurpassed reliability and care. We source products directly from growers all around the world to deliver the highest standards of quality, freshness, selection and value to our customers.

We do realize that our business is all about taking care of customers one at a time. That is why we provide full service including on-site floral design staff at each of our locations. The experienced staff at McNamara will work hard to understand your needs and custom create a beautiful floral design to fill your needs or express those hard to say emotions. Many of our customers have relationships with specific associates within the company. We often have customers asking for Alan or Eileen, we are proud of our staff, their abilities, and their ongoing relationships with satisfied customers.

A local delivery fee of $9.99 will be added to each order, for each address. (For deliveries outside our local delivery area, this fee may vary.)

U.S. orders must be received before 12:00 Noon in the recipient's time zone to assure same-day delivery. Orders received after that time will be delivered the following day.

We will do our best to accommodate deliveries at specific times of day, but we cannot guarantee it.

We are unable to make deliveries on Sundays. Deliveries requested on this day will be delivered the following business day.

Delivery of orders to rural route addresses or cemeteries cannot be guaranteed.

We will be happy to accept your international orders if you call our shop directly. We are unable to accept international orders over the Internet.

Occasionally, substitutions may be necessary to create your bouquet due to the availability of certain flowers in various parts of the country. Care is taken to maintain the style, theme and color scheme of the arrangement, using flowers of equal value. Additionally, the substitution of certain keepsake items may be necessary due to increased demand, especially during major holidays. In single-flower arrangements, such as an all rose bouquet, or orchids, we will make every attempt to match the flower type, but may substitute with another color.
